Pete Brown & His Battered Ornaments: A Meal You Can Shake Hands With In The Dark; 1st Pressing SHVL 752. For Pete Brown buffs, this was recorded before his Piblokto days, but still shows him as a successful song writer and poet, even writing with the Creams Jack Bruce. Bought in 1969 and still enjoyable today. His Battered Ornaments include Chris Spedding on guitar and Rob Tait on drums.

The vinyl does have some minor scuffs and a hairline scratches, but plays exceptionally well throughout (possibly a couple of slight nicks). In terms of condition rating - I am no expert, the records have been cleaned with wet wipes and was played on a Technics turntable using a new Technics P24 stylus. The overall vinyl condition I would say is Very good, maybe better, based on the above and that the vinyl looks clean with some surface marks, the centre is clean with virtually no spindle marks (see photos) The record plays exceptionally well throughout with a good depth of sound with some background noise that virtually disappears if 'Dolby Mute' is used.  The sleeve has very little to wear, except were the laminate has shrunk causing a slight scuff mark at the edges (see photo) and I would grade its overall condition as Excellent.
I have tried to grade using the Record Collectors Grading, as below: Excellent (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. Delivery is by signed Royal Mail, 2/3 days
