Description
If your reading this you will know the status of Pete Brown and the rarity and historical value of this long playing disc. Pete Brown was a massive character and influence on Cream and Jack Bruce especially. I was a student in London from 1963-1967 but was on the scene in Soho from 1961-1972 hanging out at the Flamingo, the Scene, Marquis, Eel Pie Island, Ronnie Scott's etc knowing musicians and buying records. Going to see Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Graham Bond, Georgie Fame was normal, seeing great US Blues and Jazz stars was special. Pete Brown was often at clubs doing his thing, sociable, willing to talk and convivial.
This LP and another I'm selling - 'My Last Band' - Pete Brown and Piblokto - came from my recently deceased brother in law who was a contemporary - more Hippie, less Soho Mod. I'm selling then for his two surviving daughters who really need the money.
This is SHVL 782 1970 EMI Harvest with the run off code SHVL 782 A1-16
The condition is good but quite well played so not perfect. Both sides play well with no jumping and low background noise. The surfaces are shiny and look good. Having just played it I am happy to recommend it to you.
The cover has signs of being well used, with some scuffing to the corners, mild scuffing to the bottoms but more to the opening sides. The spine is readable but scuffed at the top and bottom. The inside of the covers is good with no damage or wear. The is an inner sleeve.
Two similar copies on Ebay at listed at 349 and 480. My nieces really need the money hence the competitive pricing. My price is lower and leaves room for added value selling on to another customer.
The My Last Band record SHSM 2017 run off A-1 and A-2 (other markings R 1 + r M) is in better condition overall and can be found for £279.99 on Ebay. There will be a £10 discount if you buy both sent as a cheque to your address with the records.
I will consider offers for these but a large discount is already factored into these prices. I'm a reliable seller and will package in professional boxes and post via tracked Royal Mail service.
