Description
Prestige Bluesville 1068, “The Blues of Pete Franklin: Guitar Pete’s Blues”, from 1962. This is the blue trident pressing from 1964. The vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The heavy jacket shows wear along the bottom seam, somewhat heavy toward the opening; there is minor corner wear; the jacket back is slightly age-toned. There is otherwise no ringwear, bends, or writing, though the usual factory “RW” stamp is at upper right on the back. Songs are “Got to Find My Baby”, “Lonesome Bedroom Blues”, “Prison Bound”, “Black Gal”, “Grievin’ Me”, “Rocky Mountains”, “Six White Horses”, “Sail On”, “My Old Lonesome Blues”, and “Guitar Pete’s Blues”. Franklin, like Scrapper Blackwell, lived in Indianapolis and pursued his unique guitar style on this album, the only one he ever recorded. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 extra within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $13.00 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge. I am also offering an original 1960 concert poster this week.
