Fleetwood Mac, also known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, is the debut album by the band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1968. The album is a mixture of blues covers and originals penned by guitarists Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer, who also share the vocal duties.

The release of the album brought the band overnight success; in the UK, the album reached No. 4 and stayed on the charts 37 weeks, despite the lack of a hit single. The album barely made the charts in the US, reaching No. 198. Even though the album has sold over a million copies in the UK, it has never received a certification there. As of June 2015, the album has sold over 150,000 copies in the US.

Fleetwood Mac made their debut at the 1967 Windsor Jazz & Blues Festival. By this time, Green had already gained recognition for replacing guitarist Eric Clapton in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and impressed audiences with his guitar playing. Bass guitarist John McVie and drummer Mick Fleetwood had also played with the Bluesbreakers. As Green explained to Chris Welch of Melody Maker in March 1968, "When I left John [Mayall], I didn't want to form a group. I wanted to go to Chicago, but it was difficult to be sure of being safe and I ended up dropping the idea. I was happy doing nothing, but [producer] Mike Vernon said, 'Why not?' and he talked me into it." In the documentary Peter Green: Man of the World, however, Vernon recalls Green telling him he was thinking of leaving the Bluesbreakers to form his own band. Bob Brunning played bass guitar on one song ("Long Grey Mare") because, according to Fleetwood on the Man of the World film, "We wanted John (McVie] to join the band and John wouldn't because he wasn't sure if the money was gonna be there, but Peter called it Fleetwood Mac because he knew damn well John would come." Spencer, who had cut some demos for Vernon on Decca Records, was also added to the lineup.

Fleetwood Mac was produced by Mike Vernon at CBS Studios in London. The album contains material by blues artists such as Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, and Elmore James, the latter's influence especially prominent in the songs sung by Spencer, whose vocals and slide guitar delivery became one of the group's early trademarks. Green's contributions as a singer and songwriter were also evident on the band's debut album, with Neil Spencer of Uncut observing in the Ultimate Music Guide dedicated to the band, "Feted for his guitar playing, his vocals were just as important; soft, sorrowful and unmannered (recognisably not American), they animated the slow 12-bar 'Merry Go Round' as much as his spiky guitar... The album's stand-out is 'I Loved Another Woman,' a Green composition that was a precursor to 'Black Magic Woman' with a Latinate rhythm, longing vocals and a shimmering, almost spectral, guitar part." Green also contributed harmonica to the album, while Spencer plays piano on the Robert Johnson lament "Hellhound on My Trail." "Shake Your Moneymaker" was released as a single but did not chart.

Although he was seen by many as the leader of the group, Green was already growing wary of fame, with Fleetwood recalling in the Peter Green: Man of the World documentary that the guitarist was "furious" when the first album was released as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Green also spoke of his disdain for "blues purists" who accused the band of going commercial and for including rock and roll numbers in their set, telling Melody Maker in 1968, "A lot of so-called blues purists are against us doing it, but I don't care what they think. We play what we like...I'm not a blues purist. I don't know every record ever made, or their numbers, and I'm not interested in talking about blues all night. I just play blues - and rock 'n' roll."
