(Decca SXL 2034 UK LP 1959)
This is a UK original ED1 Stereo LP pressing. It has a fully laminated flipback sleeve which has a Blue Border around the text on the rear. It has an extremely thin spine. The "spine" text is on the rear sleeve next to the spine. There is a printers date above the bottom flipback (E.J.D. 4/59). This means that this sleeve was printed in April 1959. It comes with its original company "FFSS" polythene-lined inner sleeve.
The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has ED1 Decca labels. These have the "Original Recordings By" text on them. The labels are grooved also. The record has 1st press ZAL-4061-1K and ZAL-4062-2K matrix numbers.
Sleeve: There is some mild or more moderate, in places, rubbing wear to the bottom edge. There is a small tear at the front sleeve opening. There is a small tear on the rear sleeve. There is some light or mild wear to the bottom flipback in two areas. VG condition
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light or mild marks on the vinyl in some areas. There are two (1.5 & 2 cm) hairline marks, right next to each other, near the start of Side 1. These feel to the touch slightly & do cause some intermittent light clicks for a relatively short period. There are about 4 other light hairline marks. Good condition. The labels are in VG++ condition & show light or mild spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG- condition. There is a mild seam split at the centre of both sides. there is some light to mild ringwear & creasing too.
I have fully play tested this LP. Obviously it is not the best audio copy. It plays Good+ to VG overall. As stated, there are some light intermittent clicks near the start of Side 1. There are about 4-5 light clicks midway through Side 2. Otherwise, there is some light, mild or more moderate crackle in some places.
