Condition Description & Other Information In this condition, you cannot buy a copy for less than $100.00... if you're lucky! ## 1972–1975: Beginnings and Drouyn.... Stillwater formed in 1972 in Sydney as a hard rock band but changed their name to Finch following year. The line-up of Finch was Peter McFarlane on drums, Owen Orford on lead vocals, Bob Spencer on lead guitar, and Tony Strain on bass guitar. In 1973, they won a 2SM/Pepsi Pop Poll, earning a contract with Picture Records. In January 1974, the group released their debut single, "Out of Control"/And She Sings", while Spencer was still in high school. In 1974, Finch contributed to the soundtrack album for the surfing film, Drouyn, which featured surfing world champion, Peter Drouyn. Finch's tracks, "Sail Away", "Lady of Truth" and "Roses" were used in contrast to "jazzy incidental material". The Canberra Times' Michael Foster noted the "sound is no less compelling, and perhaps is more evocative because it is less insistent on the one beat and theme". ## The Vinyl is described as Excellent and played to that today, average background & no skips or stops. Several spindle marks to both labels. There are a reasonable number of fine hairlines & sleeve marks to both sides of the record. The Vinyl has retained much of its rich waxy lustre.
The Gatefold Cover is described as between VG & VG+. There is some visible edge/spine & corner-wear. There are fine cracks to spine & edges with associated wrinkles. There is ring wear to front & verso. There are some colour & paper losses to edges & spine. There are some areas of foxing. Repaired seam split rear bottom edge. Couple of minor stains here & there. Rear cover bottom edge has been taped in white. There are paper losses to the base of front cover & the base on both sides of the inner gatefold.
