Description
An original Stereo 1st press of Peter & Sophia on the UK Black & Gold Parlophobe label 1960. Matrix 1/2.'WT' Tax. Stampers 1G/1R - placing it amongst the first 1,000 copies to have rolled off the press. Those iconic labels are a treat to see particular in the super-rare 'Stereo' format. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In super condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Delivery from the this stereo early press is fantastic - it's like being in the room! Interference is, thankfully, minimal. All we could detect was the occasional crackle in the odd isolated place. Given that this LP is knocking on 60 years old it is a mighty clean and impressive rendition.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has clearly been looked after. Lovely shiny front with barely a crease. The rear is in great condition too with just some light tanning now evident. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Emitex (Ex) No marks and little ageing. No side splits.
