PHIL COLLINS
CAPTURED LIVE! #CL-783 A-E:
RKO Radio Networks Records
Recorded live at The Warner Theatre, Washington, D.C. - 20 February 1983
Original Airdate - Week of 27 June 1983
1983 pre-FM Triple Vinyl LP Set
Yellow Label / Cue Sheet Version

Recorded on the final night of Phil's very first solo tour, and captured live at The Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on 20 February 1983, this radio transcription triple vinyl set (Side 6 is blank) is the earliest incarnation of this particular radio show available on LP. It is an extremely rare and hard to find set, the value of which keeps increasing. The crowd sound on this one is a bit "muffled" compared to other versions of this concert, (for example Phil Collins – Superstar Concert Series has a bit brighter audience sound) but it is still an amazing set to own. Contains original DJ introductions by Perry Stone, however, there are no commercial blocks on this set which is unlike future pre-FM vinyl releases. (Local DJs would drop in their station's commercial blocks at the designated times during the broadcast.) Interestingly, this show also contains a recording of Phil's lengthy Band Introductions, which does not ever appear on any future recordings of the show. In addition, this set's running order is far closer to the actual set list than any future releases of this show. Incomplete capture.*

In Contrast The Details Of The OTHER RELEASE:

PHIL COLLINS
CAPTURED LIVE! #CL-1684 A-D:
RKO Radio Networks Records
Recorded live at The Warner Theatre, Washington, D.C. - 20 February 1983
Original Airdate - Week of 14 May 1984
1984 pre-FM Quadruple Vinyl LP Set
Blue Label / Cue Sheet Version

This set contains some of the same material on Phil Collins Captured Live!, reproduced and repackaged for airing in May of 1984. This show DOES NOT contain the following songs, which ARE featured in the Phil Collins Captured Live incarnation of this show: This Must Be Love, Thru These Walls, You Know What I Mean, The Roof Is Leaking and The West Side. Consequently, the total running time on this version is 51:31, whereas the running time for Phil Collins Captured Live is 81:45. Therefore, this is a reduced performance from an already incomplete capture. The interesting thing about this set is that it comes on four vinyl LPs. The first two LPs contain the show with host Jim Ladd, and the second set comes "unhosted", allowing local radio DJs to produce their own version of the show. Incomplete capture.*

*INFO & CUE Sheets copied from the website DISCOGS. ( the CUE SHEETS provided are not the ORIGINAL YELLOW CUE SHEETS )

All of SIDE FIVE is the closing track "...And So To F" is very very similar to the GENESIS instrumental LOS ENDOS - this is a MUST for GENESIS fans.
