Description
Both labels have 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. address. The same address at the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove. The record has "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. Stamped "Not For Sale" on both labels and the upper margin of the back cover. 3 groups play on the 6 tracks. 2 tracks include Phil Woods, Gene Quill, alto sax; George Syran, piano; Teddy Kotick, bass; Nick Stabulas, drums. 3 tracks include Hal McKusick, alto sax; Billy Byers, trombone; Eddie Costa, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Charli Persip, drums. 1 track includes Jackie McLean, John Jenkins, alto sax; Wade Legge, piano; Doug Watkins, bass; Art Taylor, drums.
Cover: Good(+) 2" split on the top edge at the insert edge and 1" split. A 2" split on the bottom edge. Wear on the bottom insert edge corner. Light overall aging. Faint, light stain mark near the top edge of the back cover.
Record: VG to VG+ 1 surface rub mark on each Side. No overall wear. In spite of the clean overall appearance there is some significant surface noise. Side A, Track 1, a few clicks and some groove noise at the beginning of the Track. This noise is moderate and continuous,, more audible on the last 1/4 of the Track. Track 2, The clicks persist but seem less noticeable as the music is more aggressive. Track 3, several audible clicks at the beginning of the Track with much less noise than the preceding Tracks. Side B Track 1, faint groove noise on the first 4 or 5 revolutions with several light clicks towards mid Track. The noise continues, irregularly throughout most of the balance of the Track. Track 2, the irregular, light crackling continues. At time disappearing but returning. Track 3, a few isolated faint clicks, less than the preceding 2 Tracks. Most of this Track has no noise. A few more light clicks towards the end of the Track. Those interested should be aware of the surface noise detailed. Audibly checked.
