Description
Prestige 7116, “Four Altos” with Phil Woods, Gene Quill, Sahib Shihab, and Hal Stein (alto saxes), Mal Waldron (piano), Tommy Potter (bass), and Louis Hayes (drums), from 1957. Vinyl with original W. 50th St. label plays at VG++ with practically no background noise; there are a few marks on the vinyl, and a bit of light static on part of Side B. Heavy laminated jacket with squared-off spine has well-centered spine print. There is mild corner wear at bottom; jacket back is basically clean with no writing and only one small factory “Jazz” stamp. Tracks include “Pedal Eyes, “Kokochee”, “No More Nights”, “Kinda Kanonic”, “Don’t Blame Me”, and “Staggers”. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $14.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail for $11.75 extra is strongly recommended. (Last year, a package to the Netherlands was lost in shipment, resulting in disappointment on both sides.) Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
