Description

Philips 835 198-200 AY Bach Violin sonatas partitas Grumiaux

Philips 835 198 - 200 AY made in holland stereo. Bach violin solo sonatas and partitas by Arthur Grumiaux. The famous reference recording! This is a early copy of this box, with HiFi stereo logo on the box, and one record 835 200, with Hi-Fi stereo label. The other two have the second maroon stereo label. I have a lot of these philips records, and to my experience, the maroon second label is as good as the hi-fi stereo label. the quality goes down with the later bright red labels.

This set is in excelent ++ condition. The box is NM, no torn corners, nice readable original gold lettering at spine.

the records are in original double inner sleeves. Record 1 and 2 are NM, only with faint hairlines under strong light, caused by taking the records in and out the sleeves. Record 3, side 2 is NM, side 2 is Ex-, a 1 cm mark ticks very sofly at the middle, hardly disturbing (see photo).

booklet is NM.

Grading:

  • M: never used. I don't use this grade unless the record is sealed
  • NM: No visible or audible faults
  • EX: Record has clearly been used, but has no major audible faults, some non sounding marks possible, maybe some dirt or light surface noise (especially on older mono record, surface noise is quite normal).
  • VG: Light audible faults, ticks or surface noise
  • G: scratches, etc. I don't sell record in this condition, unless they are very special and collectible.
Records are first graded visually. If I have doubts, I grade them on my linn lp12 / clearaudio concerto. If not satisfied, please contact me before leaving negative feedback. Paying buyers will receive positive feedback.
