Description
Philips 6768 023. 8 lp set. The art of Eduard van Beinum. Rare memorial set issued 25 years after his sudden death in 1959. The box combines mono and stereo recordings of this underrated conductor, Succesor of mengelberg in Masterdam as conductor of the Concertgebouw Orchestra. here is the chance to get an impressive overview of his art. The box contains rare recordings, also the first and only issue on lp of a live recording of Bruckner 5th symphony. Bruckner was a Van Beinum specialty. Other works included from J.C. Bach, Bartok, Berlioz, Debussy, Grieg, Kodaly, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Nicolai, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schubert, Sibelius, Sousa, Stravinsky and Thomas. Box is slightly discolored. LP's and booklet NM, apart from a small mark that hardly sounds during Sousa's stars and stripes (an unique recording in itself!).

Grading:
M: never used. I don’t use this grade unless the record is sealed
NM: No visible or audible faults
EX: Record has clearly been used, but has no major audible faults, some non sounding marks possible, maybe some dirt or light surface noise (especially on older mono record, surface noise is quite normal).
VG: Light audible faults, ticks or surface noise
G: scratches, etc. I don’t sell record in this condition, unless they are very special and collectible.
Records are first graded visually. If I have doubts, I grade them on my linn lp12 / clearaudio sigma.
