Original 1st Press UK LP released in 1973 on Solid powder blue triangle Harvest Records Label. Cat: SHVL 804. Comes in original one side opening gatefold sleeve with no sticker on front. Matrix numbers: SHVL 804 A-2/ SHVL 804 B-2. Comes with original black inner bag which is in Excellent condition. Has two foldout posters and one sticker all in Excellent condition. Although I have listened to this album countless times over the years from growing up with it in the family home, played at my 16th, 18th, 21st and many more times since there really is something magical about this album it seams to float on forever in it’s short 44 minute length and I still manage to hear things I’d not heard before. This is the first time I have heard and listed a 1st UK pressing of this wonderful album and once again I am floored by the soundscape it creates and the timelessness of the music. This is ground zero for this album and it really does sound magnificent…

This batch of LP’s are from a very recently acquired collection of all original late 60’s early 70’s pressing LP’s. There are around 200 albums I hope to list over the coming weeks some fantastic titles amongst them most over 45 years old!! I have hand cleaned and listened to every album and graded conservatively (as per usual) to give the most accurate grading I can. I hope you enjoy browsing or bidding on the titles as much as I have listening to them all.

By condensing the sonic explorations of Meddle to actual songs and adding a lush, immaculate production to their trippiest instrumental sections, Pink Floyd inadvertently designed their commercial breakthrough with Dark Side of the Moon. The primary revelation of Dark Side of the Moon is what a little focus does for the band. Roger Waters wrote a series of songs about mundane, everyday details which aren't that impressive by themselves, but when given the sonic backdrop of Floyd's slow, atmospheric soundscapes and carefully placed sound effects, they achieve an emotional resonance. But what gives the album true power is the subtly textured music, which evolves from ponderous, neo-psychedelic art rock to jazz fusion and blues-rock before turning back to psychedelia. It's dense with detail, but leisurely paced, creating its own dark, haunting world. Pink Floyd may have better albums than Dark Side of the Moon, but no other record defines them quite as well as this one.

There are some light spindle marks on labels. Record has been meticulously cleaned and shows some light scuff marks and very light scratches. There are some light crackles throughout mostly noticeable at start of side one and inbetween tracks and is in VG+ condition. One side opening original gatefold cover has no signs of seam splits with only very light scuffing on corners and a small crease mark on bottom left corner and is in VG++ condition.
