Description

An original 1st press of ANIMALS on UK Harvest. Matrix 2/2 - very earliest cut. Note labels are consistent with a 1st press from EMI Middlesex. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We also have the original bespoke lyric inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, one of those copies you wished you could find every month. But alas copies this good turn up very infrequently. A very low-mileage copy and it really shows in the audio. Hardly a mark either side - shiny like new. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. A grading I would very very rarely give out to a PF title. The Floyd titles have so many low-key passages it is nigh on impossible to find a truly clean player throughout. But every now and then I hit the jackpot - and this is just such a copy. The audio is nothing short of astonishing. So, so rarely do you hear Animals with a perfectly clean background. It is so unusual. Clean intros, inbetweens, & fades...And of course, when you finally do get that, wow - what an album.  All that brewing angst and moodiness just goes to another level. If you're looking for that show stopper copy - this may well be it. I'm literally getting no background at all - throughout. You might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side [and that's being harsh!]. I'm not sure I've ever witnessed a better copy. In fact, I probably haven't. the audio quality is off the scale - and EMI really surpassed themselves with this title. Can't fault it. Will outgun all-comers! Very straightforward 'FINAL UPGRADE'.
Cover (Ex) Well, the vinyl was pretty impressive - but take a look at the cover. And that 'front' is looking pretty much perfect - which is extremely unusual. Perfect colour retained. No creasing. No surface wear at all. The rear looks great too - just one or two minor wear flecks up in that top right quadrant. But in reality still far far better than what typically surfaces. The interior is nigh on perfect - no issues at all. Edge wear is extremely slight for this title. Just a very slight amount top and bottom of the right panel [much much less than is normally found]. The openings are razor sharp. We have four pointy corners. The spine is way better than you usually find. All text fully legible. Hardly any wear - just a very fine creases line running down it as is practically impossible to avoid. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Would be difficult to equal - let alone better.
Inner (Ex/Ex+) Continuing the theme.. another excellent looking example. No surface level creasing - which is you typically find on this title. An incredibly superficial crease in the extreme top right corner. Surfaces are clean and smooth. No splits. IN fact, hardly any edge wear at all. Very very fine indeed.
