Description
Pink Floyd - Animals 1977 UK 1st pressing.
I have play graded this album. You will see many for sale at higher prices which are only visually graded. This LP needs to be listened to in order to give a fair grade. Animals was packaged in a hard card inner sleeve which can cause damage over time to the playing surface. I would not buy an early copy of Animals without either first hearing it or making sure the seller has play graded.
Wide spine thick card cover in VG+ condition as per images. No creasing just some minor wear here and there. Nice sharp edges without any heavy wear or dings.
Inner sleeve in VG+ condition with no major creasing and no seam splits.
Side 1
Excellent sound reproduction, quite run in during Pigs on the wing, nice and quiet in the low key moments throughout . Just the odd quiet pop and a bit of crackle here and there but nothing to ruin the sound delivery. No scratches just the odd blemish and usual hairlines etc caused no doubt from inner sleeve removal over the years. This album is notorious for that due to the thick card inner which it was issued with. I'm an audiophile and I'm quite happy with Side 1.
Side 2
Good condition. Not as good as side 1, it suffers from some quiet pops and clicks which are more obvious during the quieter moments across entirely of the side which I say are probably caused by that cardboard inner. No scratches just some hairlines. I have cleaned side 2 on my vacuum cleaning machine but it has failed to completely remove the background noise. Maybe a ultrasonic clean would improve?
If your looking for the perfect pressing ( which is likely to command a high price) then this is probably not for you especially if you class yourself as an audiophile.
Record will be sent in a proper record mailer with new anti static inner sleeve.
