This is the seminal 1973 Pink Floyd album 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' on vinyl.
This edition is a UK Harvest stereo release (SHVL 804) famously embodied by a solid blue prism on both vinyl labels and is a very rare first pressing that is highlighted by the following information -
Front Cover - The front cover gatefold is factory sealed.
Outer Gatefold - Very dark blue (twilight) background with overall packaging made of thick, durable cardboard.
Back Cover - Upper right corner displays 'SHVL 804 (IE 064-05249) Stereo'.
Inner Gatefold - Record information highlighted in blue and includes 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.'.
The condition of the album cover is very good overall, showing natural aging in regards to faint ringwear, some varying age spotting and a small but quite unnoticable crease at the near left edge of the back cover. The inner gatefold, in quite small writing along the blue ray of light, has the text 'Rob, Barb & Lisa' and this addition can be removed with care and due attention. The front cover shows some lightening of the black background in very select areas around the near right edge, this is to be expected from extended storage beside and against other album covers. The corners are still sturdy, showing small amounts of wear which is natural from the thirty-seven year age of the album. As this is a 'blue triangle' pressing, the cover is not in truly mint condition, but it is in great shape.
There is no cover sticker as standard with the first pressing. The cover sticker, which read 'PINK FLOYD - THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON' was introduced for reasons of clarity during purchase with later editions.
Vinyl Labels - Solid blue prism on a black Harvest background. Both labels have 'The Gramophone Company Limited' under the 'SIDE 1 / 2' and year of release text. The outer edges of the labels read 'THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD. ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDED WORK RESERVED.' and 'MADE IN GT. BRITAIN', 'UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE, BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED'.
Vinyl Matrix - SHVL 804 A-2 and SHVL 804 B-2.
Vinyl Sleeve - Black with additional poly plastic inner sheath.
The overall condition of the album is excellent, with both sides showing a beautiful sheen and no discernable scratches that could be felt. This is a worthy addition to a growing collection of classic albums.
