Authentic 1973 US First Issue: The perimeter rim text on both labels reads: "Mfd. by Capitol Records, Inc., a subsidiary of Capitol Industries, Inc., U.S.A." Capitol added "-EMI" to their corporate name in 1974, confirming this as a true 1973 first-year pressing.
Capitol Jacksonville Pressing: The stamped 0 in the deadwax confirms it was pressed at Capitol Records’ Jacksonville, Illinois plant.
Ken Perry Mastering Cut: The runout groove features the stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL along with the etched initials kp right under F38 (photo 20260920_080249.jpg), denoting a master lacquer cut by legendary Capitol engineer Ken Perry.
Iconic Gatefold Presentation: Features the original Hipgnosis prism design and interior heartbeat line graphics with no barcode on the rear cover.

This copy is an authentic 1973 early pressing featuring the original "Capitol Industries, Inc." perimeter rim text (pre-EMI credit), pressed at Capitol's Jacksonville, Illinois facility (stamped 0), and cut by engineer Ken Perry (stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL with etched kp). It has been deep-cleaned using a Spin-Clean system and play-tested on a Technics SL-B500 turntable with a new stylus through a Denon receiver. The audio reproduces with punchy dynamics, deep bass, and clear vocals, with only light surface static in the quiet transitions.
Housed in the original iconic Hipgnosis gatefold jacket (no barcode). Upgraded with a brand-new Hudson Hi-Fi anti-static inner sleeve to preserve the vinyl, and sealed inside an archival 3mil outer poly protective sleeve.
