Pressed on the same high quality vinyl as the original solid prism pressings and using very early cuttings mean that this is one of the best pressings of the album out there, hands down. It's a truly superb sounding record!
Vinyl: Very Good +
Visually the vinyl looks superb! It has a nice deep gloss and very few surface marks to speak of. The labels are very clean and have little to no spindle trails indicating that this copy may have only been played once or twice in it's lifetime. It plays through very nicely and with great, strong audio throughout but there can be some slight signs of dust crackle and unfortunately some of the surface marks are audible, causing light rotational ticks in "Money" and "Us and them" with the odd tick elsewhere throughout the album. I have tried to clean this LP with some very light cleaning spray but the inner sleeve seems to reintroduce a lot of dust back onto the surfaces of the LP which can be audible when played back, so for the play grade I'm only going to give it an Very Good + grading. I think if this record were cleaned in an ultrasonic machine and given a fresh new archival inner sleeve, it would sound truly spectacular and grade as an EX at least but unfortunately I can't provide either of these things. I think the only thing letting this LP down is those audible marks but luckily they're not too intrusive, and in some places they can get drowned out by the music. It's an original A3/B3 cutting which audio-wise is just about as good as you can get and this pressing sounds rich!
Cover: Excellent -
Comes with it's original cover which is the slightly later black tone version, overall in an Excellent - shape. It does show some small signs of storage and age related wear, including some slight ring wear and light wear on the openings, but overall very nice indeed! It's not 100% perfect but it might be difficult to find a one of these in much better shape especially given the age!
Comes with a blank white paper inner sleeve from the era, which unfortunately has a small seam split at the bottom. I'd highly recommend replacing this after cleaning the record as it could reintroduce dust to the playing surfaces.
The album also comes with the original posters which are both in a superb condition!
Unfortunately no stickers / post cards though :(
