Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon UK vinyl LP 1973 1st press A2/B2 complete
This is the sought after original form of the release, with the solid light blue prism; A2 side one and B2 side two; Blue/Black ink gatefold sleeve; The distinctive Black polythene lined die cut black semi-matte paper with white printed text stating 2 patent numbers bottom left [1125555/1072844] and 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' bottom right, inner sleeve; Blue pyramid poster and band poster , glossy, the band poster having cat. no SHVL804 bottom right corner 2 Stickers with printed backs with diagonal lines across them, and the words 'FasPrint' and 'Crack-Back'
ABOUT THIS SET:
The lovely blue/black gatefold sleeve is in fantastic condition, clean, solid spine, vey little wear and tear on the outside , a little rubbing across top left inside
The original poly-lined inner is excellent - a tiny bit of corner creasing but hardly used really
2 posters, glossy, unhung, just folds - excellent order
2 stickers, show some light fading, in as new order though generally, front and back
- As a 'bonus' I am including a 'light blue prism' sticker as an added extra...Merry Christmas
The LP itself, shows very little signs of playing. Labels are solid, very light spindle marks dead centre, no pen or sticky marks or rips! Vinyl is clean , no scuff marks or serious looking scratches - excellent for its age. To a 'naked eye' lookover I spotted 3 small flaws, a small marks right at the start side 1, another light hairline on side 1, and a longer surface line across part of T1/S2 (money) - but none of them had any significant impact on a fantastic listen - I have actually recorded as the video clip the part of Money where the hairline is, and you can't hear it.
How does it sound? - overall brilliant! - here is some detail...
Side one - a few clicks on the build up right at the beginning, no significant bg noise after that , occasional light crackle - absolutely great playback throughout.
Side two - hardly any bg noise, some light crackle here and there; Money and Us and Them sound awesome (listen to the clip) - again, a fantastic listen overall
So, the much wanted original with all the boxes ticked, starting at a reasonable bid for this condition (bearing in mind DC average sold price is currently 372)....
