This is an LP by Pink Floyd called Dark Side of The Moon, released in the UK by EMI in 1973. This is a genuine FIRST PRESS, with solid blue triangle on the labels. This is the only copy I've ever actually seen in person. These are so very rare!!
WANT MORE PHOTOS?
I will do my best to describe every inch of this record the very best I can. I have taken several photos which are a better representation of condition than written description so please have a close look. I am only able to upload 12 photos but I have many more high resolution photos of corners (back and front), inside of the sleeve, closeups of the posters and stickers ready to be emailed to you immediately! No waiting for pictures!! (send me a message with your email address).
VINYL GRADING:
I grade using Record Collector guidelines and my own very high standards. I do not have a player at the moment to listen to the records, therefore, I purposely under-grade and am more critical of visual condition to compensate. I do not use MINT or NM unless the item is sealed. EX+ is the highest rating I will give to an unsealed record and the record must be virtually spotless. EX & EX- is vinyl with varying degrees of paper marks and thin hairline marks. No scuffs or stains. Nothing which can be seen under normal room light. VG+ is used for vinyl which has several paper marks, hairlines and one or two scuffs or light surface marks which will likely cause occasional or light background noise VG & VG- is used for vinyl with lots of noticeable hairlines, lots of paper marks, a few scuffs or light surface scratches. I do not sell anything below VG- unless it's HIGHLY COLLECTABLE or EXTREMELY RARE
VINYL: EX- Both sides of the record are very nice with full, original factory shine. Side A has probably a dozen or so faint paper marks and two or three very faint surface marks which could cause an occasional background crackle. Side B has less than a dozen very faint paper marks, one very light hairline and a very faint scuff mark on Track 1. There could potentially be a few light crackles or clicks from either side. Picture 6 and 7 show the condition of the vinyl under normal room light. I have inspected under bright, direct naked 100 watt bulbs.
LABELS: EX- The labels are first press, solid blue triangle labels. There is some general/noticeable surface wear from age and cleaning (it looks like) because the wear is uniform throughout the labels. Otherwise, there are no stains, marks, stickers or writing. Despite the light wear, the label printing is still clear and fully readable. There are several faint spindle marks on both sides which are only really visible when the record is held at an angle.
INNER: EX The original black, poly-lined inner sleeve is in great condition with some very slight edge wear and the normal handling marks/bends. There are no splits or obvious surface wear.
POSTERS: EX The posters have very slight corner/edge wear, very slight bending marks from handling but they both do not have any heavy stains, yellowing, no sticker marks, writing, surface wear, fading, pin holes, blu-tack marks or tape. Both posters have a few very light brown spots on the back side which do not go through to the printed sides. When unfolded, there is only very slight thinning on the folds and small to tiny holes in the junctions.
STICKERS: EX- The two stickers are crackback stickers with "Permanent" printed on the back. They have very slight corner wear on a few corners, slight soiling from age/handling and both have some very faint bending marks across the bottom right corner. It looks like they have been caught in the spine of the gatefold once or twice in their long lifetime.
SLEEVE: EX- The matte gatefold sleeve is in great condition. This is the original first issue, blue tinted sleeve. Photo 4 shows the blue tinted sleeve underneath a later pressing of Dark Side for comparison. The sleeve has some light corner/edge wear (seen in photos 9-12) spots of very light ring wear on top and bottom (photos 2 and 3) and very light softening of the open edges (photo 5). There are a few very thin crease marks around the edges as well. Inside the gatefold is extremely clean with only extremely slight surface wear along the top and bottom edges. I have several more close up photos of the sleeve corners and interior condition, ready to email to you!
CAT NO: SHVL 804
MATRIX: SHVL 804 A-2 // SHVL 804 B-2 (A2, B2 matrix endings are the earliest known pressing numbers!!)
This record will be posted with tracking and insurance, no exceptions. It will be packed in a strong cardboard mailer with no less than four LP cardboard stiffeners. The record will be mailed in a plain white inner and outside of the sleeve. Then, everything will be contained in a plastic sleeve to prevent any movement in transit before putting in the mailer.
BORING (but important) BIT:
SELLER RATINGS: Please realize dispatch time is NOT the same as delivery time. I cannot control the post office. You are meant to rate MY dispatch time... meaning the time from your payment to my posting. Due to some buyers not understanding this, I have lost my Top Seller status which means my items will be harder for you to find and might cost you more to buy.
POSTAGE COSTS/TIME: Ebay is not my primary employment and therefore I cannot get to the post office every day. I will post within 5 business days of cleared payment. Please make sure you are happy to wait at least 6 days (UK) for your item before bidding. I do not post on weekends or holidays.
With apologies to our buyers, we have had to increase postage costs in response to a massive increase in postage by Royal Mail. We still only charge what it costs us + a few pence for the cost of packing materials.
SOUTH AMERICAN BUYERS: ALL items are shipped via International Signed For postage. No exceptions. Please wait for your invoice before paying.
AMERICAN BUYERS: Stuff is taking up to 4 weeks to get to you. Please keep that in mind.
RETURNS: Quite simple: For any reason you aren't happy, send it back to me. If I messed up - full refund including return postage. If I didn't mess up - refund of purchase less postage. Email me with anything, I'm flexible so just give me a chance to work things out.
ITEM CONDITION: All items are used unless otherwise stated. I do my best to describe everything as accurately as possible but I'm human and do get it wrong sometimes. If I get it wrong, I will happily accept returns with full refund + postage when the item is received in the condition it was sent. I am using the Record Collector grading guide and only visually grade. At the moment, I do not have a record player. I have been doing this a long time and purposely under grade to compensate for not being able to listen to the LP. Sometimes a record can look great but still have noise, clicks or crackles. Again, a full refund if you aren't happy.
After reading all this, if I make a mistake, I would appreciate not receiving bad ratings for item description as I am an honest, independent seller and am trying my best. Please contact me with questions before bidding and I will provide extra photos of sleeve, spine and record condition upon request.
Please feel free to email if you have any questions or concerns as I will happily do what I can to resolve.
Thanks and good luck.
