I purchased this album on the secondary market with both the vinyl and jacket advertised in near mint condition. Following my own review I would agree with this assessment. A critical visual inspection did not reveal any defects. I listened to the album through the Grado’s and the quality of the audio dynamics matched the appearance. Numerically I would rate this a 99, it was really that perfect (it can only be a 100 if the bag is still sealed).
While I will still score the jacket in near mint condition it does not match the essentially perfect condition of the vinyl. The corners show some very light wear, particularly the bottom left and on the bottom of the rear gatefold a very small split in the seam is developing; a full split hasn’t broken through yet but if the jacket isn’t handled with kid gloves it may at some point. The spine is tight and there is one minor crease of the cover along the spine which sort of stands out because of the black cover. Also along the top of the gatefold there is what looks like dimpling from being opened in a couple of spots, minor in nature but worth mentioning. This all having been said for an album that was released in 1979 I can say this jacket is still in near mint condition and I will numerically score it a 91.
