The Dark Side of the Moon is more than a classic Pink Floyd album – it is one of those records that became part of the language of vinyl itself. The production, dynamics, transitions and atmosphere make it an album people still genuinely enjoy hearing from beginning to end rather than simply owning as a collectible.

For collectors, UK Harvest copies have their own appeal because the pressing details, label variations and matrix generations tell the story of how this extraordinary album remained continuously in demand throughout the 1970s.

This particular copy is an interesting late-1970s UK Harvest pressing, carrying the classic blue-outline prism labels and the desirable A-10 / B-9 matrix combination.

A handwritten HARRY marking is visible in the Side A deadwax. Harry T. Moss was one of EMI's well-known cutting engineers, and his initials/name appear on a number of respected UK cuts from this period.

The A-10 / B-9 combination together with the black Harvest labels featuring the blue outlined prism identifies this as a later UK issue rather than the very first 1973 solid-prism pressing.

The record retains a good gloss and presents well in normal light. There are numerous fine hairlines and micro-scratches across the surfaces, as honestly shown in the strong-light photographs.

Most of these fine marks become considerably more noticeable only when the vinyl is tilted under powerful direct light. This is why the photographs deliberately include close-ups under harsh lighting – I would rather show the record honestly than hide normal signs of use.

The iconic UK gatefold sleeve remains very presentable with strong prism artwork and bright interior graphics.

There is visible age-related handling, light rubbing, edge and corner wear, plus some creasing consistent with a vintage copy. The spine/gatefold structure remains highly displayable. Please use the detailed photographs as the main visual reference for condition.

Included is the EMI protective inner sleeve shown in the photographs, carrying a visible 10/78 date code.

It shows age, handling and light discolouration but remains an attractive period component of the package.

This isn't the expensive 1973 solid-blue-triangle first pressing – and I prefer to describe it correctly. What it is is a genuine vintage UK Harvest pressing with a strong collector matrix combination, period presentation and the sound character that keeps British analogue copies of this album so popular.

It makes an excellent choice for someone who wants a proper vintage UK copy to listen to and enjoy without paying the premium demanded by the earliest pressing.
