Description

Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon

Audiophile Original Master Recording, pressed in Japan.

2nd edition from 1981 of MFSL 1-017. Italic print on front.

Contains "An audiophile's dream" insert and catalogue from 12/80, but no yellow warranty certificate.


  • Condition Cover:VG to VG+. Thick gatefold sleeve with some color loss along the edges and some rubbing from storage.

  • Condition Vinyl: Strong EX to NM. Spindle wear from two or three spinnings only. A couple of faint paperscuffs visible under strong light.

           I playgraded several passages and there's some very mild surface noise audible in the quieter passages. Still a pristinely, almost perfectly

           preserved copy.

           Opposite to later audiophile pressings this a rather thin disc, certainly not even close to a 180g. But that's obviously how they did it back then.

A note about my record-grading:

I usually only visually grade the LPs under strong light and I only playgrade them ( i.e. the portions that seem to have signs of usage), if I can't be sure of their actual condition.
If records show stronger signs of soiling I'll professionally clean them (Okki Nokki RCM), but I'm not doing this if it's obviously only dust, as I know that collectors usually prefer their
very own way of record-cleaning.

My goal is to always decribe the records appropriately and I will name every visible and/or audible defect in my detailed description. If regardless of my precautions
you should ever be dissatisfied with the condition of a record, please contact me before leaving negative or neutral feedback to give me the chance to resolve your query.
I'm confident, however, that this will hardly ever be the case. I've been selling records for many years now and so far complaints fortunately have been the utter exception!
