Description
PINK FLOYD Dark side of the moon UK Rare solid blue triangle This is a very rare UK 1st pressing of this classic album with the solid blue triangle on the label. Released on the Harvest label with the catalogue number SHVL 804. Matrix reads SHVL 804-A and SHVL 804-B (Normally '1st' Blue Triangle pressings have matrix information that reads A/2, B/2, but this one is even before that which make it the EARLIEST of the Blue triangle pressings.) The record shows some hairlines and marks (all inaudible) when hold under light but plays very strong with NO jumps, skips or warping and with great sound quality. This disc does not play like a new mint record but even in the quite parts of Speak to me and The great gig in the sky it plays with an absolute minimum of the rumble that is always heard on this album. The only minor problem doing playback appears doing the ending of the album (in the quite part when the heartbeat sound reapers) with some background noise and pops can be heard. This is courtesy of some haziness in the dead wax that might have come from the sleeve or when the record was pressed. The record is graded strong VG++ and plays EXCELLENT. The cover is graded EXCELLENT with a minimum of rub wear. All spines are unharmed and is no writing or tears on the cover. Only one little tiny dot on the front cover where the black is has a slightly different shade (an misprint of some kind and it does not affect the cover art, Please see picture). The cover is made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. and one side is glued down & sealed. The labels are graded near mint with no writing or tears. From the 10 o clock position it reads The gramophone co. Ltd on the edge of the label. The 2 posters are near mint with SHVL 804 printed in the right corner of the group poster. The 2 stickers are also near mint with brown stripes on the back. The stickers are cut with no separate strips on the edges to hold while peeling. This a really nice copy of a very collectible item. Good luck!
