Description

Artist & Title: Pink Floyd – Obscured by Clouds

Obscured by Clouds: Ultra rare genuine 1972 UK 1st pressing 10-track LP, featuring music from the soundtrack to the film “La Vallée”, with 'Gramophone Co' Harvest labels & textured picture sleeve with rounded corners. Both the vinyl and cover are in wonderful condition and display very little sign of being 41 years old! Many dealers would grade this LP as mint.
The vinyl has A1/B1 matrix numbers in the run-out grooves. Housed in its enigmatic picture sleeve, this copy is complete with the original inner sleeve. Highly desirable for its first press matrices, and hard enough to find in good condition, this copy is in Excellent Plus condition, And as these UK first pressings come up so infrequently in this condition this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to add this extreme rarity to your collection at an extremely advantageous price.

This unique, rare, FIRST PRESSING, Pink Floyd LP from the creative peak of the band’s career is hardly ever offered for sale in this condition.

This is the extremely rare real thing: a GENUINE first UK pressing. The record and textured picture sleeve are both in excellent condition, without any obvious signs of use, and complete with the original inner sleeve, (they genuinely look like they could almost have been bought new today). See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1972 not reprints or fakes. The LP is the original first press stereo LP, which was only played on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES OF THIS UNIQUE ALBUM EVER OFFERED FOR SALE IN RECENT TIMES

Obscured by Clouds is the seventh studio album by British progressive rock band Pink Floyd, based on their soundtrack for the French film La Vallée, by Barbet Schroeder. Some copies of the album refer to the film by its English title, The Valley. The cover of Obscured by Clouds is an out-of-focus film still of a man in a tree. The album was released in the UK on 2 June 1972, and a few weeks later in the US, by Harvest, reaching number 6 and number 46 respectively. A single, "Free Four" was released in the US only.

This may be your only ONCE IN A LIFETIME chance to own this piece of rock history in near mint condition.

"One of the most underrated albums I know. Forget the fact that this was a film soundtrack: it stands completely on its own. This album was put together quickly; all I can say is: perhaps more albums should be put together quickly!
This is unmistakably PINK FLOYD, but with a slightly rougher edge to it than "Dark Side Of The Moon" (a slightly rougher edge that I happen to like very much). If you are a wine drinker, this album is a Shiraz whereas "Dark Side Of The Moon" is a Cabernet Sauvignon. To really enjoy this album, break open a bottle of the former, play the album loud on a good hi-fi and turn the lights down low. Great tunes, good lyrics, and fabulous instruments (including synth and PINK FLOYD's trademark guitar playing). It oozes class."

A fantastic time warp example of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!

AND IT MUST SELL IN THIS ONCE ONLY AUCTION

You can read more about the album HERE and all over the web.

I pack my records professionally in stiff corrugated cruciform record mailers leaving the Vinyl (housed in anti-static bags) outside the Sleeve.
