Description
For Sale I have an original copy of Pink Floyd's first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn. This is a UK MONO original first pressing , with Columbia blue/black labels and "Sold in the UK...." text. Matrixes are XAX numbered. Columbia SX6157.
The vinyl is in excellent plus, unmarked condition with no blemishes that I can see, there is some spindle wear. It looks almost Mint.
The downside is the sleeve which is in only F/G condition due the fact someone has painted on the front cover, which obviously detracts from both appearance and value. The rear of the sleeve has a couple of marks and is the original flapjack version "Printed by Ernest J Day & Co Ltd., London"
This is a fine example of this record, which sonically is first class.
As I state, the vinyl is excellent if not E+ or NM with a lustrous sheen. But the sleeve obviously detracts from the complete package. A replacement sleeve could be sought and would be worth it just for the vinyl, which plays with a strong Mono sound.
Please see photos, any marks on the vinyl are from reflections from roof when taking the photos. I will play test whole of record before sending out.
