Pink Floyd Piper at the Gate of Dawn 1st Press Very Rare MONO UK SX 6157 E.J.DAY Flipback front laminated sleeve In excellent conddition
The vinyl
Pink Floyd Piper at the Gate of Dawn From my own personal collection. I have owned this amazing record since 1969 when it was bought shortly after its release. It has not been over played and if you look at pictures 2 and 3 you will see that there is no marks around the spindle hole as they are absolutely spotless
The vinyl surfaces have retained just about all the original sheen and is still a nice deep black. Under very good light you will see the faintest of a couple of very very fine hairlines Needless to say that the record plays perfect and besides that is quite between tracks. The vinyl is totally flat and sits perfactly on the turntable You will go a long way before you find a better vinyl
The Sleeve .
The E.J.Day flip back front laminated sleeve is near excellent as can be seen in the pictures There is one spot of edge wear which is on the bottom edge on the right hand corner The spine is perfect with very clear writing There is very minor creasing/wear to the front laminate.
Confirming this is a first press is the fact that this does not have "File under pop" on the reverse top right hand of the flipback and "SOLD IN THE UK" text on the label
Original inner sleeve
This is the Advert one (none emitex) and I am pretty sure this was the one that came with when I bought vinyl Anyway, oddly, it has age browning and a couple of seam splits and appears out of character for the rest of the album
