Pink Floyd Piper at the gates of dawn Vinyl LP SCX 6157 second stereo pressing. File under POPULAR : Pop Groups sleeve.
Overall in good + condition but please read the finer details below and study the pics as they are part of the description.
Play tested prior to sale using a moving coil cartridge on a Linn/Quad system.
Sleeve in good condition. No splits, front has creases predominantly on the top right and some on the top left resulting in some minor de-lamination. Rear of sleeve is dirty down the left and right sides, dark smudge approx 10mm big and 'angus' written in blue biro at the top. The opening is a little tatty but very good for its age and the spine is in good condition too, some very minor marks but still clear with very little damage/crushing.
Inner sleeve is the original EMI showing other EMI records/artists. No splits but has yellowed with age and has some creases
Labels Both are clean with no writing. They do have some some wear around the hole though and have spindle marks, nothing terrible but noticeable.
The playing surface. (the important bit!) Both sides are 50/50 and consistent with each other. Visually they do have some light scratches but nothing bad ,deep or nasty. Side 1 does have a noticable 3" scratch from the edge of the label and side 2 has a light blemish, No skips or jumps!!! Sound quality is good +. Obviously due to the light scratches there is a small amount of pop n crackle in quieter parts and between tracks and the lead in/out grooves but nothing serious,but its there in the background. Both sides start fantastic with good clarity but as the album progresses there is a slight lessening of sound quality and becomes a little harsh and spitty sounding. This is probably due to been played with a mis-aligned cartridge in the past and even though its noticable its not that distracting from the overall experience but please dont expect it to play like a mint condition LP and bear in mind its over 50 years old but saying that its survived pretty well !
It has been deep cleaned and ready to play.
