This fine UK 1st pressing of their second studio album was the final one to contain any contribution from Syd Barrett
It is a scarce 1st STEREO pressing dating from initial June 1968 release on the black & blue Columbia label: SCX 6258
Earliest matrix numbers: YAX 3633-1 & YAX 3634-1
Earliest possible side 1 stamper code: 1/G & 1/R

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback, Hipgnosis designed Garrod & Lofthouse printed stereo cover
Complete with original black & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve

Both are clean & bright with a little wear around the side 1 centre hole, together with a small number of light spindle trails around the unworn side 2 centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Immaculate, deep-gloss playing surfaces which retain all of their deep-gloss factory shine and are, apart from a single 2mm non-feelable scuff on side 2, unmarked & in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a few harmless wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
This copy has received minimal careful play on good equipment and my single careful play-check at volume detected no significant deterioration to the sound quality overall. There a touch of intermittent background crackle on 'Set The Control For The Heart Of The Sun', but no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions throughout this highly respectable copy
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A 1st-class example of this cover which retains a vibrant, unworn high-gloss front laminate bearing just a single tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkle but no scratching, ringwear or any other traces of storage. All corners are sharp and square and free from any bumps or bruising and both opening edges are undamaged. The exposed rear panel is unworn and black where it should be, with no ring or storagewear.
All flipbacks are fully intact with just a few unavoidable flecks of missing paper to exposed edges of the flipbacks from storage
Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is in perfect unworn condition
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with a light disc impression but no writing, seam splits or tears
