An exceptionally clean and highly complete original Japanese pressing of Pink Floyd's The Wall.

This is a beautiful collector's copy with outstanding vinyl, Near Mint labels, an exceptionally clean gatefold, remarkably white original lyric inner sleeves, the original Japanese insert, and the original blue ¥4,000 OBI.

The records are especially impressive. All four sides retain beautiful deep gloss and have been carefully examined under very strong direct lighting. The photographs were deliberately taken under unforgiving light so that the condition can be evaluated as accurately as possible.

VINYL: EX+ to NM

An outstanding pair of records.

Side 1: NM — Beautiful, essentially flawless playing surface.

Side 2: EX+ — Exceptionally clean with only two very light hairlines visible upon close inspection under strong direct light.

Side 3: NM — Beautiful, essentially flawless playing surface.

Side 4: NM- — Exceptionally clean with only very light sleeve-removal scuffing visible under strong direct light.

There are no significant scratches or visible groove wear. Under normal lighting these records present beautifully. The minor imperfections described above were found during close examination under bright direct light.

LABELS: NM

All four original CBS/Sony labels are exceptionally clean and beautifully preserved.

MATRICES / DEADWAX

Original A1/B1 lacquer matrices on all four sides:

Additional CBS/Sony stamper markings are present in the deadwax and are shown in the detailed photographs.

GATEFOLD JACKET: EX

A remarkably clean example of the predominantly white The Wall gatefold.

The exterior remains bright and exceptionally clean with no foxing, excellent corners and very little general shelf wear. The white surfaces have survived extremely well.

The gatefold interior is equally impressive—clean, bright and vivid with no staining or foxing.

There is one small localized puncture/impact mark on the spine, which is clearly shown in the close-up photographs, along with minor wear/compression at the bottom spine corner. These isolated flaws are the primary reason I am conservatively grading this otherwise exceptional jacket EX rather than Near Mint.

The original clear album-title sticker remains attached to the front cover and has accumulated some age-related surface dirt/soiling.

ORIGINAL LYRIC INNER SLEEVES: NM-

Both original printed lyric inner sleeves are exceptionally well preserved.

They remain remarkably white and clean with no seam splits, no foxing and no staining. These are unusually nice original inner sleeves for a copy of this age.

JAPANESE INSERT: EX+

Complete original Japanese-language insert.

Extremely clean and crisp overall. There is only some mild age-related yellowing/oxidation to the front page. The remaining pages are exceptionally clean with no significant flaws.

ORIGINAL OBI: VG+

Complete original blue ¥4,000 OBI.

The OBI retains strong, vivid turquoise and red color and presents beautifully when fitted to the jacket. It shows some age-related handling wear, light creasing and minor edge/corner wear upon close inspection, but remains complete with no major loss or significant damage.

Both sides are shown in the photographs.

OVERALL

This is an exceptionally attractive and unusually well-preserved example of the original 1979 Japanese 40AP pressing of The Wall.

The minor imperfections have been specifically photographed and described rather than hidden. Most importantly, the two records are outstanding: Sides 1 and 3 are Near Mint, while Sides 2 and 4 have only extremely minor imperfections visible under strong direct examination.
