Hello, for sale today is the classic album The Wall by Pink Floyd. This album has been widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time and perhaps Pink Floyd's best. It is definitely a must for any rock, Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, or vinyl enthusiast. This album is on the Columia label, and it is a very rare promotional copy intended only for viewing by CBS record executives.
There is a sticker on the back that says 'For Promotion Only: Ownership reserved by CBS' and a 'suggested cuts' track listing on the front that looks like the projected order of songs. This leads me to believe that this copy was made before the regular retail first edition was ever issued, but I cannot say for sure. The 'Wall' graffiti logo on the front is actually a glossy sticker that has been applied to the front, before the track listing was applied. My best guess is that this was to help the execs determine what the album was before the cover had reached its iconic and instantly recognizable status.
In terms of condition, I would give the album cover an EX and the record itself a M- or NM. The cover shows a little wear from storage, but the seams are entirely intact with no splitting and 3 of 4 corners are sharp. The record itself is about as new as you can get and has no scratches or virtually any signs of use, brilliant luster. The record sleeves also have 'Wall' artwork.
This is a rare album in great condition, and an excellent copy for collecting or playing. These have been bringing a premium, check the recently completed listings. I've started this one low to give everyone a chance. I hope the winning bidder will enjoy the classic album.
