Pink Floyd – The Dark Side Of The Moon, 1973 LP Harvest SHVL 804.

This is a frustrating example of the LP – The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd. It was released on the Harvest label in 1973 – SHVL 804. I think this pressing is from a bit later in the decade. Visually, it is in at least EX condition. The matrix numbers end in A-6 and B-4. The reason I say that is frustrating is that very annoyingly, on the track Money, the stylus skips a groove a few time. I have looked with a magnifying glass to check and there is no mark of any kind that may be causing this. Very very annoying, and I think it may just be a slightly ‘dodgy’ pressing. And funnily enough – I just looked on Google and found a few references that show that it is a known problem with some earlier examples of this LP. Although this is a later pressing it also seems to be the case here. It only affects a few seconds of playing time Although there is very slight movement at the stylus (typical of most LPs, in my opinion) I don’t think this has anything to do with it. All other tracks are fine.

As is fairly common I think, the gatefold cover has some minor rubbing, but it has no rips, writing, stickers or grazes. It grades as close to EX. It still contains both original posters and both original stickers. The posters are both in lovely clean and flat condition. Each of the stickers has a crease – where I think the have been stored in the cover and have slipped down and through the spine. They are still firmly attached to their backing sheets.
