Description
This is a 1st owner and 1st UK press copy of Pink Floyd’s legendary ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’.
I’m hoping the pictures will speak louder than words, but the plastic gatefold-sleeve has done a great job of protecting this LP – with two minor spine-side creases, very mildly bashed corners and some opening-edge wear, there’s not much wrong with this copy.
The original inner is obviously ring-worn from being sat but otherwise is fine, the labels have some minor marks and grime buildup; but as I’m selling this on behalf of a client I wanted it as-is in it’s ‘barn find’ state if you like, with a good wipe etc. they’ll come up beautifully.
As you can see one sticker is on the plastic sleeve and that’s all that’s with it other than the original inner.
The Mothers/Stampers appear to be:
SHVL 804 A2 3HL / SHVL 804B2 3HG
The record itself bears visible scrapes, marks and hairlines that are shallow and in some cases slightly feel-able, and had some groove buildup that cleaned well by hand.
Be aware: I play-tested start to finish before cleaning by hand on first receiving this, with some mild crackle in quieter sections (see my FYI below) but otherwise all fine, aside from the final seconds of side B; where I noted a near invisible mark that caused my needle to bounce, until I cleaned it by hand. This resolved the issue for me, as I believe it to have been caused by dirt/dust buildup in a mark rather than a concerning mark itself. I’m using an averagely weighted setup – if you feel this will be an issue as you are using a very lightly-weighted audiophile setup then please consider before bidding as I will not be accepting returns on this as it has been adequately and accurately tested and described here.
Even before cleaning it sounded awesome, so a round on a proper cleaner would take it to another level...

This is a great condition example of ‘the’ desirable 1st pressing, so grab a collector’s album on vinyl!

This is a collection being sold on behalf of a client, whom has been collecting some 50 years. It includes many 1st owner and 1st pressing items - the majority of which are EX condition records in EX/VG+ graded sleeves due to spine wear; having been stored on a shelf without plastic sleeving.
I operate the online-sales arm of a UK record shop and therefore aim to ensure accuracy in grading – I visually grade unless I can feel a mark which warrants further play-testing.
Many of the discs themselves only have very minor marks, but do have groove buildup due to not having been out in years - while I have hand-cleaned with Isopropyl solution and a microfibre (and then tested where needed), some have resulting minor background crackle and really would sound fantastic with a further session on a professional cleaning machine!
Starting-prices have been chosen competitively given Discogs and Popsike, and items will be safely packaged for postage; with discs firstly decanted into new separate inners, that inner and the sleeve then being placed in a new plastic outer sleeve and then shipped using professional grade record-mailers.
