Description
This album was originally recorded at Abbey Road Studios in 1972 and first released in 1973. Using the original stereo master tape, this remastering was done by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab to be released in 1979. The liner has a thorough explanation of the manufacturing process, but here's a summary, the master tape is played at exactly one half speed while the disc cutter turntable is also operated at half speed, giving the cutter twice as much time to carve an accurate groove. The result is much more information being captured in the cutting and a richer or fuller listening experience. There is, of course more to it, but you will have to read the liner for the whole story. Included is the static free liner and the liner carrier with more information about MFSL. Although not numbered, this is a limited edition pressing. Especially as only the early pressings were done in Japan, the rest were brought to the US.
