Pink Floyd ?– The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn Vinyl LP 1967 UK YAX 3419 Earliest Stereo 1st Pressing.
I have had this LP from new, some 54yrs. Played through both sides without some background noise on the 'deadwax' interludes and quiet sections, there is a heavy mark on track 1 and 2 of side 1, which can be heard, but plays well throughout without any jumps. The sleeve has had a protector on for all its life, so is in excellent condition with an original EMI inner sleeve. The centre labels are of the silver lettering on black style. Matrix markings are; Side 1 - YAX 3419-2 with the Mother stamp GA at 9 o'clock; Side 2 - YAX 3420-1 with GA also stamped at 9 o;clock. The vinyl does have some marks and scuffs, plus the heavy mark on side 1, track 1, but has no effect on the overall play of the album. In terms of condition rating - I am no expert, the records have been cleaned with wet wipes and was played on a Technics turntable using a Technics P24 stylus. The overall vinyl condition I would say is Very good, based on the above and that the vinyl looks clean with some surface marks and scuffs, the centre is clean with some spindle marks (see photos) The record plays exceptionally well throughout with a good depth of sound, especially considering its age.
