TITLE: THE PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN

CATALOGUE: COLUMBIA SCX 6157
Original UK 1967 first stereo press of this iconic album. Matrix numbers YAX 3419-1 G 1 / YAX 3420-1 G1 and the cover is the earliest and rarer version that does not state ‘File Under Popular’, meaning this is one of the very first few hundred pressings of the stereo record.
Blue Columbia logo and KT tax code on the spindle.
The vinyl is in VG+ condition and sounds great. Side 1 is immaculate and plays through perfectly. Side 2 has a couple of small scratches which can be heard on Scarecrow song but does not detract from the overall listening experience of such an iconic and rare record.
The sleeve is in VG+ condition, has a strong spine and is fully intact. Unfortunately, it does have my dad’s name name written in small writing on the rear! Again, I don’t think this detracts too much given the rarity of the sleeve.
Inner sleeve is in Excellent condition.
Overall, a fantastic copy of very rare version of such a classic album. It’s a shame to let it go as it was purchased by my dad back in 1967, but I hope someone else will get plenty of joy out of owning it.
