Description
"Their sensational 1st album, dominated by Syd Barret's compositions is regarded as one of the finest examples of psychedelic space rock and it established Pink Floyd as one of Britain's most imaginative psychedelic bands." I remember back then, that we would continuously play "Interstellar Overdrive" and "The Gnome" and when Syd Barrett sang the name of the gnome "Grimble Grumble", we'd all crack up with mirth - partially chemically and/or herbally induced in some (most). Needless to say, my old copy was pretty much trashed after so many parties. In the case of this copy, however, the vinyl is in EX condition, with a couple of hairlines on both sides, which do hardly anything - not to worry. There are some spindle marks on both Columbia blue/black labels, but hardly any spindle wear (see enlarged photo). Matrix nos. YAX 3419-1 and YAX 3420-1. The laminated flipback cover is a definite EX, with minor corner wear, no spine or seam wear and a tiny mark, not a tear of 1 or 2 mm. on the top seam. I don't know what it is. There are no tears at the opening, just some moderate wear. There is only the slightest of laminate separation in the form of some thin lines - almost regulation for similar covers of this age. The back the of cover presents some moderate discoloration, due to handling and not washing one's hands each time before touching ... tsk-tsk !! See photo. This is one of the all time classic Psych/ Space rock albums and it should not be absent in any even halfway serious collection. This copy is a great one to have : original 1st version/ Columbia Blue-Black label/ EX-EX / RARE in this nick / NO RESERVE !!!
