Description

An original 1st issue of WALL on the UK Harvest label. Matrix A2/B3 - A2/B3. 1st copies of THE WALL contain some very high quality audio and were pressed heavy. If you LOVE - the Wall - then for a great rendition you're going to need a 1st copy - and just as important - it needs to be a clean player. Because this LP really requires maximum clarity to deliver the full gamut of fear and angst! The vinyl comes housed in an original heavy card cover - not flimsy stock like later copies. The 1st issue copies are fairly easy to spot - there should NOT be the band members listed in purple in the cell directly above the 'baby in a cell' [in the interior - right panel]. We also have both original solid-card round cornered inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very fine marks per side. One does just about sound on side 3 - see detail below. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of deviations. This is a lovely clean player throughout - more than enough to take on the full ambience and angst on offer. THE WALL has a lot of incredibly low-key moments which are super fussy. Most copies - even really nice looking ones - will not manage to deliver a proper clean background. This is a very fine copy and you will get dragged into the FEEL and FEAR...with a copy like this. Very little in the background to distract you by and large. You might detect a few minor crackles in "Anybody Out There". And a good few ticks / crackles in the intro 'Nobody Home'. As the track picks up in volume it cleans up. In reality, it's only that intro to NH that is vaguely an issue across the whole of four sides. If you can live with that one issue the rest of the four sides is top class.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition with just a bit of ageing creeping in the extremities. Front and back are uncreased and the aesthetic is still well maintained. The interior looks great - no issues. Hardly any edge wear at all and the openings are stiff and unworn. The spine is in good order with some ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely looking original specimen.
Inners (Ex-) Light signs of ageing. No splits.
Sticker (Vg+) A crease in one corner.
