Description

A 1st issue of the WALL on the UK Harvest label in 1979. Matrix A3/B2-A2/B3. 'TML-X/TML-M'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the original 1st issue cover is easily identified by the absence of the band members names in the brick directly above the 'baby in the cell'. All later reissues mention the band members names in purple in this brick. Also included are the original round cornered inner sleeves with notches at the top. The sticker is present, but it is a little creased. So, this copy is 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has clearly only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of very lights marks and one patch of smudging - nothing remotely troublesome though [guaranteed]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. The audio comes across with perfect clarity and barely any interference at all. If you are someone who is fussy about audio do seriously consider this LP. THE WALL is full of what is often very low-key audio and many copies suffer some sort of interference which can be off-putting with this title. This copy is preserved better than possibly any other one I've experienced. The only interference I can recall is a couple of crackles toward the end of T1 on S2 - that's all! Beautifully quiet intros and inbetweens and you will be swept away by a classic album and some of the best quality audio ever laid down on vinyl.
Cover (Ex) In very nice shape and someone has clearly looked after it down the years. Often found with a great deal of fading this example has almost entirely escaped that - just a couple of age spots. The exterior and interior are both nice and white. Edge wear is light and overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Difficult to find in better condition than this.
Inners (Ex) Superb - just the start of a split on one bottom seam. Practically nothing.
