Description
A 1st issue of the WALL on the UK Harvest label in 1979. Matrix XXXXX. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note the original 1st issue cover is easily identified by the absence of the band members names in the brick directly above the 'baby in the cell'. All later reissues mention the band members names in purple in this brick. Also included are the original thick-card round cornered inner sleeves with notches at the top.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and has clearly only seen the light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. THE WALL is full of what is often very low-key audio and many copies suffer some sort of interference which can be off-putting with this title. We only detected a few light crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Overall an impressive rendition with lovely clean audio. THE WALL remains a classic album and the audio on offer here will knock the socks off of anything you've heard before.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and seems to have avoided most of the usual ageing process. But please note that there are a few foxing marks visible on the front, a couple on the rear, and then a few lighter ones in the interior. Edge wear is very light and the spine is in very good order. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inners (Vg+) One bottom edge two inch split...otherwise aok.
