Description

Pink Floyd - UMMA GUMMA - Doppel LP 1969

Originally released as a two-record set, with one live disc and the other recorded in the studio. The action moves from trippy instrumental jams to super heavy live versions of their earliest tunes. Highlights are the beautiful folk song "Grantchester Meadows," and, from the live sides, "Astronomy Domine" and a previously unreleased "Careful With That Axe Eugene.

The live sides from Ummagumma, originally packaged together with the studio sides in the 1971 LP, finds the band cranking through super-heavy versions of some of their earliest songs. "Astronomy Domine" and the previously unreleased "Careful With That Axe Eugene" -- a freaked-out journey into dementia -- are highlights.
