Okay... this is mine... was mine... bought by me in 1969!

Pink Floyd. Umma Gumma. Stereo. Harvest Label. Early First Pressing and on EMI Super Heavy Vinyl, in Very Good Plus to Excellent Condition. I am the only person who has played this and I was young when I did play it, but I looked after it and any marks on the vinyl are fairly minimal and consist of paper-marks from the, usually, heavy EMI inners, some hairlines and just the odd surface scratch, but, being conservative in the grading, I would say this could be a Very Good Plus, but I think it is far better, so maybe an Excellent or maybe an Excellent Minus.... I don't know, so I will just use my terms and say it is in fantastic condition and being owned by one person and that person being me, I think it is a lovely example of this increasingly rare Pink Floyd double album.

It has the usual EMI Matrix, Mother & Stamper Codes hidden in the run off vinyl and consists of Side One, being Mother '3' & Stamper 'GGA' or '112' and on Side Two Mother '1' & Stamper 'RA' or '23'. Side Three is Mother '1' & Stamper 'RG', being '21' and Side Four is Mother '2' & Stamper 'PA', being '63'. As usual with EMI, Stampers, being the actual pressing dye and made of copper, coated with stainless steel, would be mixed and matched and these were many, but this LP suggests fairly low Stampers and very low Mothers or master casts. This, along with its weight, being very heavy and the fact I bought it on realease in 1969, suggests a very early pressing and with its '1 3' '2 3' Matrices, this is a First Press.

The label is the original Harvest and again it has the tell tale First Press signs, with the tiny 33 1/3 playing speed on the labels and Sid Barrett credit for Astronomy Domine, along with Producer on Sides Three & Four being Norman Smith, as opposed to Pink Floyd, which apears on Side One & Two.

The cover is E J Day and is gatefold, with the heavy card of the 60's and a laminated outside, but mat interior. It is in good, solid condition, with just odd signs of corner and spine wear and no damage or writing. Its plain white EMI inners are a little creased, with the usual seem splits here and there, but all is fine, there and original!

Grading is based on my words only and whilst these words are used by Record Guides, they are mine! Grading is subjective, so all I am doing is usuing my honest judgement. Below is The Record Collector's Guide as a guide only. I am reluctant to accept returns, as this opens the door to 'buyer remorse' or just a change of mind, which wastes everbody's time. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.

In addition to the basic grading, any individual faults should be noted separately such as if an otherwise Excellent cover has a name written on it, or a 7" single is missing its original centre etc.
