From my personal collection here is a chance to own another great CBS MasterSound release.The vinyl is mint and cover is ok (water stain front right corners). Includes poster and postcard.The photo for the listing is my actual cover. I have listened this LP set for the first time in over 20 years. It is now as clean and crystal clear as when first issued 25+ years ago.
It will be shipped with a new re-sealable archival sleeve to protect your investment.It will be boxed in an oversize LP shipping box to ensure it arrives in perfect shape.
Wish You Were Here is a song cycle dedicated to Pink Floyd's original frontman, Syd Barrett, who'd flamed out years before: two grimly funny songs about the evils of the music business ("By the way, which one's Pink?"), and two long, touching ones about the band's vanished friend. The real star of the show, though, is the production: sparkling, convoluted, designed to sound deeply oh-wow under the influence--and pretty great sober too--with David Gilmour getting lots of space for his most lyrical guitar playing ever. And, though the album is big and ambitious, even bombastic, it somehow dodges being pretentious--the Barrett tributes are honest and heartfelt, beneath all the grand gestures and stereophonic trickery.
231 (GS 5.0b2 (231)) On Jun-17-08 at 02:10:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Cover received water damage. The vinyl LP was not harmed in any way. It did not even need cleaning.However, the storage box this LP was stored in fell on the floor one recent winter. As luck would have it, the one side that
was not sealed soaked up some moisture. To protect this LP and your collection from any further damage,
I will be packaging the vinyl LP separate from it's cover. Each will be in it own protective sleeve. The cover and inserts
will be sealed in its own LP cover sleeve. The LP along with a new anti-static MFSL type sleeve will be inserted in a new white outer cover.
On Jun-17-08 at 18:32:37 PDT, seller added the following information: This record has received the utmost care while playing during it's play life. Prior to recent audition it had not been played in over 20 years.
It was played only on an audiophile automatic single play turntable using a top of the line Shure V15 IV cartridge tracking at not more than 1.25 grams.
You can be assured that the vinyl remains as near original quality after less than a dozen plays.
