Description
PINK FLOYD – WISH YOU WERE HERE
CBS/Sony Japan – SOPO 100
1975 Japanese first pressing
Highly collectible original Japanese issue of Wish You Were Here, retaining the distinctive original dark-blue shrink wrap and BOTH original stickers — the large round Pink Floyd/handshake sticker and the rectangular Japanese ¥2,500 promotional/title sticker.
Unlike later Japanese issues, this original SOPO 100 release did not use a conventional paper obi; the blue outer wrap and stickers formed the original exterior presentation.
Includes:
Original SOPO 100 LP
Original blue shrink wrap
Both original exterior stickers
Original six-panel color poster
Original Japanese multi-page insert/booklet
Original picture/lyric inner sleeve
VINYL: EX / EX+ visually
Beautiful, glossy Japanese vinyl. Very clean overall with only minor evidence of handling visible under strong direct light. No significant scratches visible in the photographs. Labels are clean with no writing or major damage. Visual grade only unless otherwise stated; record has not been fully play graded.
JACKET: VG+
Jacket covered by original blue shrink, however the corners arent sharp and one ding.
ORIGINAL BLUE SHRINK: VG
The extremely important original blue shrink remains substantially intact and retains both original stickers. The shrink has considerable age-related wrinkling, contraction, bunching and some splitting/open areas around the edges and corners. It has intentionally been left completely untouched and unaltered. Please examine the detailed photographs carefully.
POSTER: EX+
Original large fold-out poster presents beautifully with strong color. Normal factory folds and only minor age/handling wear.
JAPANESE INSERT/BOOKLET: EX+
Original Japanese insert is present and very clean overall with minor age-related wear. Slight oxidation but very flat without damage.
INNER SLEEVE: VG+/EX
Original illustrated inner sleeve is present with light age/handling wear. Slight foxing, no split
IMPORTANT: The blue shrink and original stickers have not been removed, flattened, heated, reattached or otherwise restored. They are being preserved exactly as found.
A particularly desirable example for the serious Pink Floyd/Japanese vinyl collector because the original SOPO 100 blue packaging and both exterior stickers have survived together for more than 50 years.
Please review all photographs carefully; they form an important part of the condition description.
