There’re 3 original Columbia Records promotional issue variations. The first one contains a white cover with a “Special DJ Copy” stamp and a large round sticker. The second promotional issue contains a blue cover with a round WYWH handshake printed on the cover in the upper left-hand corner. The currently listed auction represents the third Columbia Records promotional issue variation. Demonstration Not For Sale cover contains a silver embossed stamp in the upper left-hand corner on the front and a large promotional timing strip that can only be found on this promo issue variation. Black and blue Columbia picture labels with mechanical handshake. Text around the bottom edge of label starts at 7 o'clock and says: ® “Columbia,” Marcas Reg. Printed in U.S.A.”. This promo copy comes with the original heavy cardboard inner sleeve with a picture of a red veil blowing in the wind on one side, and credits and lyrics on the other side. I can’t explain the presence of an original “Wish You Were Here” postcard, but nevertheless, it was inside the cover of this promotional copy. I’ve decided to keep it and hope that the postcard will become a pleasant bonus for you. Please pay attention at the matrix numbers I’m about to write further as they have the scratched out -1A / -1A stampers. The full matrix numbers of this Columbia Records promotional issue are as follows: Side 1 - AL 33453-1A (Scratched Out) 2A; Side 2 - BL 33453-1A (Scratched Out) 1D (Scratched Out) 3A.

I grade the cover as Excellent. It's very clean and doesn't have any ring wear, which is commonly found on this issue. The edges are fully intact and don't have any splits.Some light creasing along the spine, a little bumping on the top left corner along with some very light discoloration along the top of the back cover. The spine is rigid and contains a fully readable text. The original inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition and doesn't have any edge splits. I grade the vinyl as Excellent for Side 1, which has some very light surface scuffs from the original inner sleeve, and Near Mint Minus for Side 2 which barely has any marks or scuffs. The vinyl retains its beautiful factory lacquer and play great throughout, only having some very light occasional static, which is more noticeable during the quiet passages. The static might get reduced or go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned with a VPI cleaning machine. The clean scuff- and wear-free labels are in Near Mint Minus condition. The condition of the postcard is Near Mint Minus.
