Pink Floyd followed up on the massively successful world tour of the late 80s to set about recording the follow up to the momentary lapse of reason on David Gilmour's house boat, as a kind of collaborative effort not seen since the earlier days of the Floyd. The previous album was in essence a David Gilmour record, so this time around the band collectively rehearsed and recorded as a three piece with Gilmour playing bass and guitars. Richard Wright who was now fully reinstated took on a much more proactive role within the group co writing, singing, and playing some amazing timeless recordings eventually co writing five tracks on the album.  David Gilmour is now the main songwriter and main singer and his playing on poles apart and what do you want from me is just sublime, the collaboration between the band is clearly heard with every chorus and harmony, not heard since the early days of dark side of the moon or its follow up wish you were here.   Roger Waters now out of the band the remaining musicians of David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason with help from Guy Pratt fill the void with emphasis on the collaboration.. always a strong focus with the Floyds best work. Credit must also be given to the writer Polly Samson who contributed lyrics to this fantastic record.. one of the best recordings they ever made in my opinion.

The condition of the blue vinyl is in stunning mint condition, this has only been played once  ( I have two other copies in black vinyl ) and played on a high end clearaudio turntable.   this beautiful record has absolutely no marks at all, with a deep shine on quite heavy vinyl.. beautiful.   The labels are both both free of spindle marks and have no trace of wear at all.. one play. The gatefold cover is in superb mint condition. I have kept this in a plastic outer sleeve since new and kept it in an upright position in a smoke free home so its super clean and undamaged. The inner lyric insert is in mint condition.   
  
Graded using the record collectors book which grades as follows-  



MINT-  the record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. 
 
Excellent-  the record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/ or creasing.   

Very good - the record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable 
I use sensible grades, I don't do anything outlandish and geeky and shine 100 watt light bulbs when i grade these, natural light is good enough for me.. dust will always make a record look worse than it is under such intense light and even brand new records sometimes have paper particles on them, However I do have a super exstatic carbon fibre  and velvet disc cleaning pad so they are always nice and clean. I have quite strict grades and have been known to refuse even the most rarest of records that are marked so rest assured my records are some of the best.
