PINK FLOYD - Saucerful of Secrets. SX 6258 Mono 'Blue' Columbia label
Sorry the photo is a bit naff but how do you photograph albums?
A bit of history about this album. My brother bought it new in 1968. About three years later I bought it off of him and have owned it ever since. I have never lent it out so although it has been played by me I know that since I've owned it I've looked after it. It has NOT been played in over 19 years, that is when I moved into my house, and it has been stored upright along side other albums in a closed cabinet.
I will be as over critical as possible.
COVER: Front; This is at least 'very good'. The laminate has cracked in several places around the edges and there is slight record indentation at the top. I would say that 80%+ of the front is unblemished. The colours are still strong.
The back is unlaminated and it is suprisingly clean but there is a faint blue line underlining the word 'pinkfloyd'
INNER SLEEVE: I believe is the original with pictures of 16 other EMI/Columbia albums on both sides. It looks a bit grubby and the record has broken the paper on all three unopened sides. There is a number 1 written on the top right hand corner.
ALBUM: Side one; This must be catagorised as 'Excellent'. It is almost faultless to the eye. There is only really one noticable mark on it, a 3mm scuff on track one. There is minimal spindle marking. the run off groove has XAX3633-1 on it.
Side two: This is not quite as good as side one as it has three surface scratches but it must be classed at least 'very good/excellent'. Again fairly minimal spindle marking and a run off groove with XAX3634-1 on it.
SUMMARY:As I said, I have been very critical because I know this is a sought after album so have been as honest as possible.. As I have not played it for many, many years I cannot guarantee the sound quality, but I honestly believe that the marks I have mentioned should not effect the sound. To me they are surface marks.
I believe the record itself is in exceptional condition and would be suprised and disappointed if the winning bidder is not delighted.
