Description
This is an excellent copy of the audiophile pressing of Pink Floyd, The Wall, issued by Columbia Records in 1979. This LP was purchased by me used a number of years ago and was played sparingly, only as a source for tape recording. This is very rare and sought after LP with near mint copies having a book value of $250.
As to grading, I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG ++, I prefer to use grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.
The LP is in excellent condition and plays very quietly as tested using headphones. The only visual blemishes that I could see was a barely visible light mark on side one located in last cut and barely visible scuff lines located in the area of the 2d and 3rd cuts on the first side. I heard nothing other than recording when record played through this area. Please note that this was cleaned before testing which was done few weeks before listing and done by hand and not machine. It should be cleaned again before listening. The gatefold cover is in Excellent condition. The top corners of the cover on both parts of the gatefold are sharp as is the top corner at spine. The bottom two corners at the mouth are slightly worn/crimped. There is slight crease at the front and back of gate at bottom near mouth and slight crease at the bottom just to left of mouth. The seams on the top and bottom of both sides of gatefold as well as the spine are strong with little or no wear showing and no splits. The product information is clearly readable on the spine. The front back and of the cover are in excellent clean condition, difficult to find because so much of the cover is white. There is damage on the front cover near the top over Half Speed Mastered banner.
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold and shipped is returned. Buyers that behave in a less than ethical manner will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions.
