Here's a real rarity for you. This is the initial advance LP for Pink Floyd's Animals that was sent to select radio stations in the USA back in 1977 just before the LP was released.
Both the tracks "Dogs" and "Sheep" have been specially banded for this copy so that radio stations can cue up and play only portions of them since they were so long.. Also, the curse in "Pigs" is removed!
I bought this thing in a New York City record collector's shop back in the mid-1980's for $50. I have never played it. It has just stayed in my collection, stored correctly upright in a smoke free environment all of these years. The record doesn't have any odor issues either...This was never damp or anything.
Overall it's in good shape for what it is. The LP is graded at VG+ as it has a few superficial marks on it but nothing too bad. Probable more of an EX- but I am being conservative....plus there seems to be a mark from a green highlighter on the label of side 1 and on side 2 the same highlighter seems to have written the letter A near the spindle hole. The cover gets a VG rating and but it is nice and flat and doesn't have too much ring wear as you can see in the photos. I took a photo of one corner to show that it has a little damage. although it is very minor.
Time to let someone else hold onto this collectible!
