COMPLETE 1ST PRESS NO EMI!
This is the UK 1st Press. This is a genuine 1st Press with No EMI logo and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd.' and 'Made in Gt Britain' rim text. It has the very earliest matrix 1G/1G endings. It is complete with the original earliest 1st Press Hard or & Lofthouse sleeve. Printed on the inside of the sleeve is the patent no. text and 7010. This 1st Press sleeve is also on a slightly different grade of card and has a different look and feel to later presses. The original inner sleeve reflects nearly 50 years see photos.
The record is in Very Good + condition. The vinyl is jet black with a sensational gloss. There are just a couple of very light marks and a few wispy hairlines on both sides. There are no heavy marks and certainly none that significantly affect the sound quality.
The labels are EXCELLENT .The green is is exceptionally bright and clean and the txt is sharp. There is just the slightest spindle wear. The label clearly displays ' The GRAMOPHONE Co. Ltd.' and 'Made in Gt Britain' rim text and there is no EMI logo!.
On playing the sound is EXCELLENT. It's bold vibrant and extremely sharp. There are moments of very slight background hiss, but the vinyl still has exceptional audio separation and the original rich clear sound!
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover is in Very Good + condition. The colours are superb and the image is sharp. The inside is the same as the day it was pressed ..perfect! There is a little corner and me light edge wear. The whole sleeve is solid!
Very earliest matrix ...A really nice example of this iconic album. It is nearly 50 years old!!
